Dr. DeAndre W. Caldwell, DPT, ATC, Cert. MDT, TPS is the physical therapy program manager at ChristianaCare Rehabilitation Services in Smyrna, DE. He is passionate about treating those with low back pain and chronic pain. He holds dual credentials as a certified therapeutic pain specialist and is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) for treatments of low back pain, neck pain and extremity pain.
DeAndre’s career ranges from working in sports medicine with the New York Giants to working with those with spinal cord injuries at Magee rehabilitation in Philadelphia. DeAndre regularly lectures on treatment of spinal conditions as well as Chronic pain at the Collegiate, local and national level.
While at ChristianaCare, DeAndre developed the Rehabilitation department’s first Chronic Pain Program, and trained several other therapists at 8 other clinics on how to treat chronic pain, fibromyalgia etc in order to provide standardized care. In addition, DeAndre served on an award winning team that developed standardization of care for treatment of lumbar radiculopathy.
Most recently, DeAndre was invited to share the stage with many well-known and respected orthopedic surgeons at the annual Delaware Orthopedic Specialist’s, Orthopedic Symposium as he lectured on treatment of Chronic pain during the Opioid epidemic. DeAndre is the recipient of the excellence in achievement award during the therapeutic pain specialist program which was awarded at the national Align Conference in Denver in 2019.
DeAndre lives at home with his loving wife Valerie and two young boys. He enjoys spending time with family, running, exercising and writing. He is very active at his church and active in the community. DeAndre has a message of hope that the body is extremely adaptable and there is often a chance for positive change.
