JeMe Cioppa-Mosca, PT, MBA

JeMe Cioppa-Mosca, PT, MBA is the Senior Vice President of HSS Rehabilitation & Performance. Ms. Cioppa-Mosca leads the vision, strategic planning and development of the 350 FTE multidisciplinary and multistate enterprise. She is the Founder and Director of the HSS Rehabilitation Network, a preferred provider organization of 250 independent therapy practices throughout the New York tri-state and Florida. Ms. Cioppa-Mosca oversees the management contract governing the provision of Prosthetics & Orthotics services at HSS, strategic partner initiatives and corporate onsite physical therapy services. She is passionate about creating a work culture where team members can learn and grow personally and professionally.

Ms. Cioppa-Mosca has provided editorial direction on a number of professional publications, including Postsurgical Rehabilitation Guidelines for the Orthopedic Clinicianand its companion handbook, and most recently the HSS Rehabilitation Telehealth Evaluation Guidelines for Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy.

Ms. Cioppa-Mosca is an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College and is on the boards of Crutches 4 Kids, NYC Advisors for Friends of Karen and Russell Sage College Board of Trustees. In 2019, she was honored with the Wholeness of Life award by the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network. In 2021, she was recognized by Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield as one of the Whole Health Heroes for displaying extraordinary leadership and a remarkable commitment to revitalize New York City.

Ms. Cioppa-Mosca earned her MBA from Pace University and her BS degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College.

Karen Litzy, PT, DPT

Dr. Karen Litzy, PT, DPT is a licensed physical therapist, speaker, owner of Karen Litzy Physical Therapy, host of the podcast Healthy Wealthy & Smart and creator of the Women in Physical Therapy Summit. Through her work as a physical therapist, she has helped thousands of people overcome painful conditions, recover from surgery and return to their lives with family and friends. She has been a featured speaker at national and international events including the International Olympic Committee Injury Prevention Conference in Monaco, the Sri Lanka Sports and Exercise Medicine Conference, and various American Physical Therapy Association conferences. Karen has been featured in magazines and websites like Redbook, Women’s Running, Martha Stewart Living, Family Circle, Health.com and CafeMom. She has been a guest on several podcasts including Entrepreneur On Fire, Hack the Entrepreneur, and The Healing Pain Podcast. She lives in New York City. 

Larry Benz, DPT, OCS, MBA

Dr. Larry Benz, DPT, OCS, MBA, MAPP, is co-founder and executive chairman of Confluent Health, a private physical therapy company with related businesses in education (Evidence In Motion), occupational medicine (Fit For Work), and provider network management (PTPN). Confluent Health’s holdings include over 625+ outpatient physical therapy centers under several industry-leading brand names, education and training companies with university partnerships, and a national provider of onsite workplace injury prevention services. Dr. Benz is nationally recognized for his expertise in private practice physical therapy and occupational medicine, executive management and recruiting, including expertise in finding and retaining employees to build a thriving organization.

Prior to restructuring at Confluent Health, his PT Development LLC equity fund included holdings in Family Home Health, US Worldmeds, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and physicaltherapist.com amongst many others. From 1987 to Sept 2007, he founded and served as President/CEO of Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT), a private practice outpatient physical therapy company. From 1984 through 1989, he served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Army Medical Specialists Corps where he received the Meritorious Service Medal.

Dr. Benz’s interests include conducting research and integrating empathy, compassion, and positive psychology interventions within physical therapy. His book published in 2019, Called to Care: A Medical Provider’s Guide to Humanizing Healthcare, became an instant best seller on multiple lists. A frequent lecturer with over 250 invited presentations at multiple conferences, physical therapy, MBA, and Executive Education programs throughout the country, Dr. Benz has served on the American Physical Therapy Association’s Advisory Panel on Practice, American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and Foundation For Physical Therapy Research. He is the past Board Chairman at The University of Louisville, Neighborhood Engagement, and The University of Louisville Medical Center. He currently is a Trustee at Bellarmine University and board member of the University of Louisville Athletic Association and Evolve 502.

He is the recipient of numerous business and physical therapy awards, including the Kentucky Physical Therapy’s Outstanding Physical Therapists Award and Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” for his region. He is the co-developer of physicaltherapist.com and blog.evidenceinmotion.com, a blog devoted to the principles of EBP in physical therapy. Pat Wempe, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Dr. Pat Wempe graduated from Regis University in 2008 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). Prior to Regis, he attended University of Evansville School of Physical Therapy where he graduated in 1988 and become Board Certified in Sports Physical Therapy in 2003. He is recognized for his influence on physical therapy from both a sports medicine and business perspective. He was awarded Businessman of the year by the University of Evansville school of business in 2015.

Pat is the founding partner of ProRehab Inc. In 2016, ProRehab partnered with Confluent Health, growing from 14 locations to 41 serving the Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Western Ky and Louisville regions. Pat is a partner in Confluent Health serving as VP of Clinical Operations.

Specializing in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Pat has a subspecialty in foot/ankle injuries and custom foot orthotics. He has spoken nationally on sports medicine topics centering around the foot and ankle.

He has been on the Medical Staff at the University of Evansville since 1990. Pat has three daughters: twins, Grace and Hannah (age 30) and Madelyn (age 24) and a granddaughter Amelia.
